For any cocktail lounge, the waitresses are the veins through which the service is managed. Without the waitress, any cocktail lounge may not be able to offer the best and efficient services to the customers. In a cocktail lounge a waitress plays multiple roles like taking orders placed by patrons for alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.  The waitress then orders drinks from Bartenders and delivers to patrons.  Sometimes even maintains sales record.  Collects cash or payment by credit card.  Keeps service bar area clean and orderly.  Cleans and clears customer service areas.  May assist bartender in dispensing beverages and restocking the bar area. 

Apart from that many cocktail lounges may ask their waitress to assist in setting up the tables, arranges place settings and table decorations.  Receives guests, makes suggestions and answers questions about food, wines and other items available.  Take orders.  Places order with and receive food and beverages from kitchen and bar when required.  Maintains sales record.  Collect cash or payment by credit card.  Clear and clean tables and other customer service areas.  May provide work direction to other dining room staff as necessary.  And also performs other duties as assigned.

For being eligible for a job as a waitress in a cocktail lounge, you should have basic math skills, stand, walk, stoop and stretch, usually for long periods of time, handling food and beverage trays and food containers, seldom weighing over ten pounds. If you have the desired skills for the job, the work profile can be equally paying.
